Think snorkeling is only for expert swimmers or ocean pros? Think again. Our beginner-friendly snorkeling lesson is designed for real people — the ones who are curious, excited, maybe a little nervous, and totally ready to try something new.
So if you’ve never snorkeled, if you don’t know how to swim, or if you're just looking for a calm, safe, and relaxed place to start — this is the adventure for you.
ITINERARY
At Pirate Snorkeling Shack, we specialize in beginner-friendly snorkeling experiences in one of Puerto Rico’s most beautiful and protected natural reserves. Don’t know how to snorkel? Don’t worry — we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
Learn the Basics — the Easy Way
We begin right on the beach, where the water is calm and crystal-clear. With patient instruction and hands-on guidance, you’ll learn:

How to observe marine life calmly and respectfully

How to properly wear your snorkeling mask and adjust it for comfort

How to breathe through the snorkel with ease

How to float and relax in the water, even if you’re not a swimmer
Experience the Marine Life
Once you're feeling confident, we’ll head out — directly from the beach — to one of the nearby coral reefs with your instructor.
As soon as we leave hesitation behind, you'll begin to notice the magic: colorful fish darting by, rays gliding beneath you, and maybe even an octopus hiding among the rocks.
There’s no rush and no pressure — snorkel at your own pace, take your time, and enjoy the peace of the underwater world.
